A free session to help you (and your child) make sense of learning to read.
Time & Location

Kensington Neighbourhood House, 89 McCracken St, Kensington VIC 3031, Australia
About the event
Reading is so much more than words. As well as opening up a whole world of books and information, reading gives children confidence, builds neural pathways in the brain, and creates endless opportunities for sharing, connecting and learning. Yet in Australia, we know that many children are struggling to make sense of reading.
Local community member and teacher, Lauren Speer, has spent years focused on early literacy. She is offering a free and friendly workshop for parents/carers who would like to support their children's reading at home. This is your chance to learn about how children learn to read and how you can help them. You'll find out when you can expect your child to be able to read and where to look for additional support and resources.
This FREE session is for anyone with Foundation - Grade 2 children or with older primary school children who are struggling to make sense of reading.
